The Nursery children delivered an action packed show today with the Little Red Hen story, talk about their favourite things, a Sound Quiz, Nursery Rhymes, and some brilliant presenting and party music! Nursery started off their Starbank radio journey with total style and energy! Parents visited both Bierton Road and Starbank Road sites today to listen to the shows with their children. Tune in for the best nursery show you’ve heard yet!
Last week RP went to the Eco Park. It was our third visit of the year, so we have been able to monitor the changes over the seasons. Today’s activity was making ‘journey sticks’. Guy explained that the children in ‘The Bush’ in Australia create journey sticks to stop them from getting lost as they travel across the bush to visit their friends in other villages. We imaged we were going on a long journey and needed to create journey sticks to stop us getting lost during our journey across the he Eco Park. We travelled around the Eco Park, collecting coloured pipe cleaners to represent different parts of the Eco Park. We tied these pipe cleaners onto sticks and were able to re-tell our journey using the colours to help us remember where we had been.
RA had a fantastic time visiting the Eco Park this morning! Guy talked to us about how people in Australia use sticks and coloured string to help them navigate through the bush. We then had the chance to create our own journey sticks as we visited the different parts of the Eco Park. The children finished off with some free play time in the dragon – Mrs Yeasmin even ended up on the ground! We had such a fun-packed morning!
A big thank you to our fantastic parent helpers who enabled the visit to go ahead.
RP had a lovely time on the trimtrail at Starbank Road site!
Some of the children were at little nervous to begin with, but they soon got the hang of it!
The children in Reception at Bierton Road had a fun-packed day as they got to enjoy the sunny weather in the garden! Staff have recently re-designed many of the areas in the garden and lots of new resources have been added. There was so much fun and excitement as the children had the opportunity to explore and develop all areas of their learning.
We can’t wait to continue our learning in the garden over the next couple of months!
Last week, the Reception children were treated to a special performance from the fabulous Juggling Jim!
First, Juggling Jim performed a hilarious show displaying all of his circus tricks. He showed us how to juggle scarves, ride a unicycle and even let us and the teachers play the Pieface game!
Afterwards we were all shown how to perform some of his circus tricks during a workshop in the hall. We had a go at balancing on pedal-goes with our friends, which are much harder than they look! Then we tried spinning plates which were lots of fun.
A huge thank you to Juggling Jim for his time. We all had a wonderful afternoon!
